Stewart Hunt

Stewart joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1997 as the Director of the Portfolio Advisory Group’s Fixed
Income Trading & Sales. In December 2006, Stewart moved into his current role as Managing
Director, Portfolio Advisory Group.
Stewart is responsible for the strategic direction of the Portfolio Advisory Group and reports
directly to the Head of ScotiaMcLeod’s Full Service Brokerage, Hamish Angus with dotted line
reporting to Dan Wright, Head of International Wealth Management. Stewart works closely with
the Sales Management team, particularly Hamish, and the Regional and Branch Managers to
identify where and how the Portfolio Advisory Group can support and promote business
initiatives. In his role, Stewart represents ScotiaMcLeod in managing the working relationship
between the brokerage business and Scotia Capital Institutional Equity, Fixed Income and
Foreign Exchange Trading, Sales and Research. Stewart works with many of the business lines
within and outside Wealth Management, including finance, marketing, training, managed assets,
mutual funds, retail credit and international wealth management, sharing ideas and business
opportunities. Stewart is very committed to the sales culture and client centric approach of
ScotiaMcLeod and its Advisors, and operates with a consensus building approach trying to
ensure all voices and ideas are heard.
Stewart has 31 years of industry experience including Institutional Fixed Income Trading and
Sales, Risk Management and his roles with the Portfolio Advisory Group. In addition to his
trading and sales roles for the past 20 years, Stewart has been responsible for managing people
in a high performance trading room environment.
Stewart is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Economics. Stewart
has completed his Canadian Securities Course (1981) and his Partners, Directors and Officers
Exam (1986, 2003). Stewart is a licensed non-trading officer for retail under the Investment
Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada. Stewart is a member of the ScotiaMcLeod Retail
Credit Committee, ScotiaMcLeod Hedge Fund Committee, Scotia Capital Structured Products
Committee and is Global Wealth Management’s representative on Scotiabank’s Reputational Risk
Committee.
Steve Uzielli

Steve joined ScotiaMcLeod as Equity Portfolio Manager in the
Portfolio Advisory Group in August, 2006.
Steve has the specific responsibility of managing the Equity
Guided Portfolios and offering counsel to advisors on large
accounts regarding portfolio construction and composition.
Steve works together with the Canadian and U.S. Equity
Advisory team of PAG to develop investment solutions for
Advisors and their clients. In his capacity as Portfolio Manager,
Steve also represents ScotiaMcLeod on the Investment Strategy
Committee of Scotia Capital.
Steve has more than 25 years experience in the investment
industry, including managing equity mutual funds for AGF
Management and Royal Bank and, prior to joining ScotiaMcLeod,
8 years in institutional equity sales.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a
BA in Administrative and Commercial Studies and has completed
the Canadian Securities Course, Canadian Options Course,
Partners, Directors and Officers Exam, and has the Canadian
Investment Manager (CIM) Designation. Steve is registered by
the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada as
an Officer (Trading) and Portfolio Manager.
Geoff Ho

Geoff joined ScotiaMcLeod's Portfolio Advisory Group in February 2009. He is
responsible for coverage/investment recommendations for Canadian equities. Part
of this responsibility includes distributing daily market comments, analysis and
updates.
Prior to joining ScotiaMcLeod, Geoff worked within the Institutional Equities group
at another bank-owned dealer where he contributed to the development of various short
and long-term investment strategies for a proprietary hedge fund. Before that, he worked
for over three years as an Equity Research Associate at Scotia Capital focusing on the
consumer products, industrials, and real estate sectors. Prior to that, he was an Analyst
in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice at Ernst & Young Corporate Finance.
Geoff is a CFA charterholder and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Honors with distinction)
from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts.
Paul Danesi

Paul joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1992 as an associate with the Portfolio
Advisory Group. Since then, he has held increasingly senior roles
within the firm and is now a director with responsibility for U.S. and
international equities and exchange-traded funds.
In his current role, Paul provides strategy and industry commentary,
thematic investment ideas, as well as company specific
recommendations. He is a regular contributor to the group’s and
firm’s various publications and has participated in ScotiaMcLeod’s
Economic Market & Outlook Conference. Paul also acts as a liaison
between the ScotiaMcLeod and 3rd party research providers and
certain investment management firms.
Paul spent three years of his career working in the equity research
department alongside one of the country’s top ranked industry
analysts. He retuned to the Portfolio Advisory Group in 1998 as a
senior Canadian equity analyst where he also assumed responsibility
for the group’s Canadian equity Guided Portfolios. Paul was also a
member of ScotiaMcLeod’s Managed Asset Committee that oversees
the firm’s Pinnacle and Summit managed asset programs.
Paul is a graduate of Laurentian University from which he obtained an
undergraduate degree in accounting. Paul has completed the
Canadian Securities Course; Partners, Directors and Senior Officers
Exam; and Certified Investment Manager Course. Paul holds the
designation Certified Investment Manager and is a licensed nontrading
officer for retail under the supervision of the Investment
Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada.
Tara Quinn

Tara joined ScotiaMcLeod in 2006 as the Marketing and
Research Associate for the Portfolio Advisory Group. In
August 2007, Tara moved to Portfolio Advisory Group Fixed
Income Trading and Sales team where she currently advises
on Canadian Preferred Shares.
Tara is part of the Fixed Income Sales Team where she takes
a proactive approach in supporting the ScotiaMcLeod
brokerage business and servicing advisors and their clients
for their fixed income needs. In her role, Tara provides advice
on Canadian Preferred Shares and reviews and creates
portfolios.
Tara has over three years of experience working with the
Portfolio Advisory Group and joined the group after
getting her Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
Prior to this, Tara spent two years in sales and management
at a private health club.
Tara has her Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Kinesiology from
Wilfred Laurier University and her MBA from Queen's School
of Business, graduating with distinction. Tara has successfully
completed all examinations and is currently awaiting her
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Carolyn Tsai

Carolyn joined the ScotiaMcLeod Fund Research Team
in December of 2005 as Junior Analyst and became
Senior Analyst in October 2006.
Alongside Justin Kusinskis and Joel Beriault, Carolyn
executes the firm’s gatekeeper efforts in performing
due diligence on fund products seeking distribution
through Scotia’s channels. In addition, Carolyn
conducts primary research and plays a key role in the
selection and monitoring of the Mutual Fund
Recommended List and the Guided Portfolios. Carolyn
also acts as a key contact for advisors in providing fund
recommendations, portfolio analysis and construction
support.
Prior to joining the group, Carolyn spent six years in
Scotia’s operations area in various roles- most recently
as Assistant Manager, overseeing three teams within
the Mutual Funds department.
Carolyn obtained her undergraduate degree in political
science from the University of Toronto. She has
completed the Canadian Securities Course (1998),
Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (1998) and is
currently working towards the Canadian Investment
Manager designation.
